Advanced Quality Control with IMCE’s Product Inspection Toolkit
In the fast-paced world of mass production, ensuring consistent quality across every unit is a significant challenge. Traditional inspection methods often fall short, for example, by inspecting only a few samples and generalizing for the entire batch. For this reason, inspectors often miss defects, resulting in costly after-sales complaints and diminished customer satisfaction. However, the Product Inspection Toolkit revolutionizes this process, offering a fast, accurate, and comprehensive inspection method that potentially covers 100% of your production. Consequently, the toolkit increases the identification of suspect or bad parts. As a result, your team significantly enhances overall product quality.
Ideal uses of the Product Inspection Toolkit
- Detection of cracks, porosity, …
- Checking/monitoring of curing stages for ceramics, refractories, concrete, …
- Product Classification
- And many more
Advanced quality control for quality managers
The lab software of the RFDA instruments offers in-depth insight into the frequency spectrum of your product. This spectrum represents a unique fingerprint, which you can subsequently use to investigate correlations between good, bad, and suspect parts. Additionally, with the Product Inspection software toolkit, quality managers can create and modify so-called product types.
These product types contain all the information needed to perform consistent measurements, such as sample setup, impact, and transducer position, as well as predefined settings like impulse force. Furthermore, you can save critical parameters such as frequencies, damping, and mechanical properties in the product type, along with the allowed tolerance ranges. Consequently, operators compare and evaluate any measurements for this product type against these values.
Once completed, managers share and manage product types with their operators.
Product Inspection Toolkit for operators
The elaborate lab version of the RFDA instruments is replaced by a simplified UI dedicated to operators. First, the operator selects the product type (read-only) and receives instructions on how to set up the product for measurement. Moreover, the system pre-defines all settings, allowing the operator to simply perform the measurement according to the provided instructions. After the measurement, the software identifies the required parameters as determined in the product type. When the software finds the parameter, it automatically evaluates the value against the expected value and the allowed tolerance. Consequently, the software prompts a Go/No-Go/Suspect indication.
The entire process, from measurement to the Go/No-Go indication, takes place in a matter of seconds. Furthermore, the system subsequently saves all measurements to a result file, including batch number, unique product ID, and many more details. This information then links back to the overall quality control system and is available for consultation at all times.
